1. "Unforgettable War of Resistance" is a concise popular illustrated book that reflects the evolution of China-Japan relations over nearly 100 years, Japan's aggression and occupation of China, and the Chinese people's uprising in the War of Resistance. It is rich in materials, objective, and authentic, with 300,000 words and 2,360 images. The collection of these valuable historical materials spanned 20 years and involved interviews with over 1,000 subjects, including famous figures from both the Communist and Kuomintang parties such as Zhang Xueliang, Chen Xiangmei, Yang Chengwu, Zhang Aiping, Lü Zhengcao, Sun Yi, Chen Lifu, and Jiang Weiguo. There were also many veterans, ordinary people, laborers, and "comfort women" who participated in the war and witnessed this period of history.
2. The book employs an innovative editing approach with a three-dimensional structure and a broad perspective. It focuses on the overall narrative while not overlooking vivid details. The interaction between important historical figures related to the War of Resistance, especially revolutionary martyrs and significant historical events, serves as the main thread that runs through the entire book, divided into five parts and 100 chapters. It encompasses all major events, battles, figures, and stories of the War of Resistance. Viewing China's War of Resistance from the context of the larger history offers a fresh perspective.
3. The book features a novel and refined design, maximizing limited space to enhance information density and incorporate rich elements of communication. For example, the binding cleverly includes the real names of over 60,000 martyred soldiers, reflecting a profound tone of remembrance and commemoration while adding authenticity to historical figures and events. Among the numerous black-and-white photographs, many striking color accents and blocks (including color images) have been added. These elements align with the somber and solemn overall tone while being more appealing to today's youth.
