Features: The "Pocket Manual of Neonatal Clinical Practice," edited by Nanjing Children's Hospital and published by Jiangsu Science and Technology Press, has been on the market for three years. Since its publication, the book has been widely acclaimed by readers, especially among obstetricians, pediatricians, and child health care workers in Jiangsu Province, where almost everyone has a copy. It has addressed practical difficulties encountered in the diagnosis and treatment of neonatal diseases due to a lack of clinical experience. As a result, readers from various regions have continuously called for a new edition over the years, particularly those who have entered the field of perinatal medicine in recent years. They are even more eager to obtain a diagnostic manual that is up-to-date, practical, and can help solve difficulties in treating neonatal diseases. Inspired by the encouragement of readers, the authors have considered that perinatal neonatal medicine has experienced rapid development in recent years, with new diagnostic techniques, medications, and treatment methods constantly emerging. Therefore, it is necessary to update the content of the previously published book to keep pace with medical advancements, enabling readers to master modern diagnostic and treatment techniques and better serve patients. To this end, we have collaborated with Shanghai Children's Hospital, affiliated to Fudan University, and invited Professor Shao Xiaomei, a renowned expert in perinatal neonatology and a doctoral supervisor, to participate as a co-editor. The book has been rewritten and expanded to cater to the needs of medical professionals at all levels—beginners, intermediates, and some with senior titles—in the field of perinatal neonatology.
