Richness comes from possessing the treasure of an inner spiritual world. Zhou Guoping was born in Shanghai in 1945. He graduated from the Philosophy Department of Peking University in 1967 and from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1981. He is currently a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He has written academic monographs such as Nietzsche: At the Turning Point of the Century and Nietzsche and Metaphysics, essays such as Man and Eternity, Watching the Distance, Each Person's Pilgrimage Road, and Silence, and documentary works such as Niu Niu: A Father's Notes and No News from Antarctica—A Journal from King George Island. Before the end of 1998, his works were compiled into Zhou Guoping's Collected Works (Volumes 1-6). He has also translated works such as Nietzsche's Aesthetic Writings and Nietzsche's Poems. At the age of nearly forty, Zhou Guoping welcomed his belated youth, full of untapped energy, as if everything was just beginning, and he aimed to make a mark in the field of philosophy. However, during this period, a series of unexpected changes occurred in Zhou Guoping's life.
