Features: Government reform, in relation to the traditional government, refers to the transformation of government structures and functions. Throughout historical development, what representative models of government have emerged? By examining the historical evolution of government models, we can not only deepen our understanding of government management but also enhance our comprehension of modern government reform. The study of government reform ultimately serves the ongoing reforms and future deeper reforms being implemented in our government. Summarizing the historical experiences and lessons from China's government reforms and correctly understanding the current reforms underway in our government is undoubtedly the primary task of theoretical researchers in government management in China. Following the premise of forming a comprehensive framework of understanding government reform, the author has written ten chapters after the preface. These ten chapters collectively aim to address three key questions: the object of government reform, the reasons for reform, and the approaches to reform. Broadly speaking, the first chapter primarily addresses the first question; chapters two to seven address the second question; and chapters eight to ten address the third question. In discussing these issues, the authors have offered their own insights based on their understanding, while many aspects have also drawn upon published viewpoints and materials.
