Features: This book provides a focused and detailed introduction to the operative techniques of pediatric laparoscopic surgery. It is divided into seven sections: the development, characteristics, and training methods of pediatric laparoscopic surgery; diseases of the chest, neck, diaphragm, and abdominal wall; diseases of the stomach and duodenum; diseases of the small intestine; diseases of the colon and anus; diseases of the spleen and biliary tract; and urological diseases. It includes the laparoscopic surgical treatment methods for 44 common pediatric surgical diseases. Using an intuitive and concise approach, the book conveys the techniques and experiences of laparoscopic surgery through text and images to readers. It aims to lay a foundation, inspire new ideas, and guide the development of pediatric laparoscopic surgery to a higher level. Although pediatric laparoscopic surgery was introduced to Beijing by its pioneer, S.L. Gans, as early as 1981, clinical operations only began after 2000. However, the development has been rapid. Within just two or three years, it has spread across all provinces, with applications in dozens of surgical procedures. Some have reported thousands of cases, and the outcomes have been smooth and encouraging. The authors of this book are experts from renowned medical universities. With the help of relatively advanced adult laparoscopic equipment and technology, they became pioneers in pediatric laparoscopic surgery. The book essentially records their successful practical experiences, which align with China's equipment conditions and national context. It will undoubtedly be helpful to units and individuals currently engaged in this field. What is particularly valuable is that the methods presented are those practiced and tested by the authors themselves, naturally incorporating their personal insights and improvements. The content of this book reflects the authors' actual surgical practices and is certainly suitable for readers' current conditions and requirements, being both feasible and reliable.

It covers the laparoscopic surgical treatment methods for 44 common pediatric surgical diseases. Our initial goal was to convey the techniques and experiences of laparoscopic surgery in an intuitive and concise manner through text and images. To help readers master the key points of each surgical procedure and avoid unnecessary detours, the book not only includes the "indications," "contraindications," and "operative methods" for each procedure but also emphasizes the "key points" and "complications." Each chapter was personally completed based on our mature clinical experience.
Pediatric Laparoscopic Surgery Illustrated is a reference book for pediatric surgeons. It is not an introduction to basic concepts and theories but rather a guide on how to master the operative techniques of modern pediatric laparoscopic surgery. During the writing process, we received kind guidance from Academician Zhang Jinfan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He personally reviewed each chapter of the book, provided valuable suggestions, and devoted significant effort. His rich clinical experience is also reflected in the book.
