In the German-occupied Jewish ghetto in Poland, people had a very deep impression of a little girl – Roma Ligocka – who often wore a bright red strawberry-colored top, which stood out against the surrounding dark clothing trends.
Fifty years later, artist Roma attended the premiere of the famous film director Spielberg’s film The Schindler’s List in Krakow, Poland. Suddenly, she discovered that the only highlight of the movie – the “Red Dress Girl” – was herself.
Thus, Roma Ligocka embarked on a journey of recalling her past experiences.
Roma clearly remembers that her childhood was filled with fear, the glaring black boots, the sudden arrival of executions, her mother’s silent weeping, and her father’s disappearance.
