Features: This book can be used as a textbook or reference for students and graduate students in teaching majors, computer majors, and fields such as information security, digital signal processing, and combinatorics. It can also serve as a reference for teaching and research personnel in the aforementioned fields. The book is written based on the author's many years of teaching experience and research achievements. In addition to the basic content typically included in elementary number theory textbooks, it also covers cubic and quartic reciprocity laws, preliminary algebraic number theory, and fundamental knowledge of certain indefinite equations over finite fields. The second edition also includes primality testing and integer factorization. While introducing well-known classical results, the author also pays attention to introducing new proof methods and recent developments, and strives to present their applications. The second edition of the book remains in two volumes. The first five chapters of the first volume can be used as teaching content for elementary number theory courses, while the sixth chapter of the first volume and the second volume can be used as teaching content for elective courses.
