Renmin University of China China Social Development Report 2005: Towards a More Harmonious Society

Features: In recent years, the publication and release of the annual series of development reports by Renmin University of China (i.e., the "Renmin University of China China Social Development Report," "Renmin University of China China Economic Development Report," and "Renmin University of China China Humanities and Social Sciences Development Report") have attracted widespread attention from all sectors of society and a broad readership, exerted significant social influence, and have become an important academic brand of our university. This has brought us great satisfaction and has also strengthened our sense of responsibility and confidence in continuing this work. It is precisely based on this sense of responsibility and confidence, coupled with nearly a year of effort, that we have compiled and published the Renmin University of China Series Development Report 2005.
Each of the sub-reports in the Renmin University of China Series Development Report 2005 is reviewed and approved by the editorial committee for topic selection, overall framework, main content, and writing style. The editorial committee also organizes seminars with relevant experts to review writing outlines. Each report operates under a chief editor system, where the chief editor is appointed by the university's Academic Committee Chair and the Secretary-General's meeting, and is officially appointed by the university. The chief editor may appoint deputy chief editors or executive deputy chief editors. Depending on the theme, leaders from relevant departments and renowned scholars are invited to serve as consultants for each report.
The Renmin University of China Sociology Theory and Method Research Center, the Renmin University of China China Economic Reform and Development Research Institute, and the Renmin University of China Humanities and Social Sciences Development Research Center serve as the supporting institutions for the "Renmin University of China China Social Development Report 2005," "Renmin University of China China Economic Development Report 2005," and "Renmin University of China China Humanities and Social Sciences Development Report 2005," respectively, playing a key role in their organization and writing.
The compilation and publication of the report have now been incorporated into the university's annual work plan as a regular task.
Due to the significant, complex, and cutting-edge nature of the issues covered in the report, combined with the short writing and publication cycle and the limitations of research levels, despite our efforts, shortcomings or contentious points in the report are inevitable. We welcome criticism and corrections from experts and scholars.
