Features: This book is a research outcome of the Canada-China University and Industry Partnership Program. All 14 cases were developed under the guidance of experts from the McGill University School of Management in Canada, led by Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Xiamen University, in collaboration with a group of teachers from more than ten universities in the western region. The content covers various disciplines such as corporate strategic management, marketing, human resource management, corporate culture, and operations management, with a particular focus on the contradictions and conflicts faced by enterprises in underdeveloped regions under the conditions of a transforming economy. Through the description of specific events, the case authors aim to reveal a series of thought-provoking issues, including how enterprises can face market competition, improve internal mechanisms, build corporate culture, and integrate into the international market during the process of reform, expansion, and development. There are no ready-made answers to these problems, but every thoughtful manager (or future manager) can gain wisdom and inspiration from these vivid cases.
