Features: This book is compiled based on Volumes I and II, aiming to further strengthen and enhance students' training in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation skills. It provides a comprehensive understanding of common Swahili grammar and approximately 1,100 vocabulary words. The text section consists of two lessons (A and B), striving to balance passages and dialogues. Some materials are selected from original sources, offering both depth and breadth in content and expression. To aid comprehension, "Muhtasari" and "elezo" annotations have been added after each lesson.
The grammar section elaborates on more complex grammatical phenomena not covered in Volumes I and II, such as the combined use of the copula "kuwa" and "-o," the formation and usage of compound tenses, Swahili phrases and clauses, etc. For some previously mentioned topics, summaries and supplements are provided, such as a review of the preposition "kwa," the differences between "ku," "pa," and "mu" as subjects and verbs, and verb forms like the static, intensive, and contactive. By the end of this volume, students will gain a rich and comprehensive understanding of common Swahili grammar and be able to apply it preliminarily.
The language section introduces "KISWAHILISanifu" to enhance students' interest in learning and cultivate their expressive abilities. The exercises section not only reinforces and strengthens students' foundational knowledge and skills but also includes a variety of rich and diverse practice questions such as reading comprehension, narrative understanding, Sino-foreign translation, and comprehensive writing, designed to develop students' abilities in comprehension, summarization, analysis, and paraphrasing.
