Features: To adapt to the current development of science and technology and meet the teaching needs of metallurgical vocational and technical schools, this book was reorganized and written based on the "Ironmaking" published by Metallurgical Industry Press in 1980 (Volume 1 edited by He Youdu, Volume 2 compiled by Zhang Guangzu), combined with years of teaching experience. The book is divided into two volumes. Volume 1 includes two parts: raw materials and fuels used in blast furnaces and their formation, and the basic principles of blast furnace smelting. Volume 2 consists of two parts: blast furnace operation and blast furnace workshop equipment and structure. As a teaching material for the ironmaking major in vocational and technical schools, this book can also be used for adult university, factory training, and reference for relevant engineering technicians. This is the first volume of the book. The revision aims to reflect the latest theories and technological achievements from both domestic and international perspectives, expand the content on cement clinker, set up a dedicated chapter for operation, appropriately include content on small blast furnaces, and add a chapter on non-blast furnace ironmaking. Review and reflection questions are provided at the end of each chapter. The book is written based on 320 teaching hours, and schools can arrange teaching content according to specific circumstances when using it.
