The Labor Law of the People's Republic of China is the first fundamental law that comprehensively regulates labor relations and protects workers' rights. It breaks down ownership boundaries, applying equally to all subjects of labor relations. The Labor Law comprehensively stipulates the basic labor rights and obligations of workers, clarifies labor standards that employers must adhere to, and covers important issues such as labor contracts, wages, working hours, social security enjoyed by workers, and the handling of labor disputes. The Labor Law also specifically outlines the norms for the state to promote employment, conduct vocational training, and implement labor law supervision.
After the implementation of the Labor Law, the Ministry of Labor summarized problems and experiences from practice, formulating the Opinions of the Ministry of Labor on Several Issues Concerning the Implementation of the Labor Law of the People's Republic of China as specific measures to enforce the Labor Law.
