Features: This dictionary strives to present a comprehensive view of each historical phenomenon during its compilation, paying attention to incorporating new research findings. When selecting historical materials, it considers aspects such as politics, economy, culture, and ethnicity. In the explanations, each historical phenomenon is treated with the aim of being comprehensive and objective, often accompanied by general assessments to reveal its essence. Given the special situation of prehistory lacking direct written records, the writing primarily draws on and references archaeological artifacts and myths to compensate for the shortcomings in historical materials. Additionally, historical sites from other periods in China and the world are included to provide insights into historical phenomena from multiple perspectives. The arrangement of the entire book follows the order of ancient, modern, and contemporary periods for Chinese history. The chronological divisions for each historical period adopt the commonly accepted views in contemporary Chinese historiography. Each entry for a historical period is organized in chronological order. Entries covering long historical periods are generally placed in the period of their emergence. Entries that are difficult to arrange chronologically are placed at the end of the relevant historical period. For world history, the same order of ancient, modern, and contemporary periods is followed, with chronological divisions based on the latest views in Chinese historiography. Each historical period is first organized by country, followed by chronological order.
