Features: Under the support of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the author conducted research on the evolution of wandering rivers and their numerical simulation techniques. The research results consist of three parts: First, the basic laws and macroscopic analysis of the evolution of wandering rivers; Second, the research on the numerical simulation techniques of wandering river evolution, developing a mathematical model for the longitudinal and lateral deformation of the riverbed in a two-dimensional plane; Third, the specific application of the numerical simulation techniques for the evolution of wandering rivers. This achievement holds significant importance both in theory and practice and was awarded the First Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award by the Ministry of Education in 2004.
