This book primarily introduces acupressure methods for alleviating diseases and health, beauty. So, what exactly are acupoints? "Acupoints" are professional terms, also known as "meridian points." The World Health Organization believes that the human body has 361 meridian points. Because they are located on the "meridians" on the surface of the body, they are called "meridian points." Acupressure therapy mainly stimulates certain meridian points on the surface of the body to achieve the purpose of diagnosing and treating diseases of corresponding viscera and organs. Meridians mainly consist of 14 branches, forming a network throughout the body, serving as channels for the flow of qi and blood—the energy of human life activities. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) believes that 12 of these branches are connected to the six internal and external viscera and bowels. The "six internal viscera" refer to the heart, lungs, spleen, liver, kidneys, and pericardium, while the "six bowels" refer to the gallbladder, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, bladder, and triple energizer. Excluding the "pericardium" from the six internal viscera is what people commonly refer to as the "five internal viscera and six bowels." Since the viscera are closely connected to the surface of the body through meridians, changes in the viscera can reflect on the meridian points on the surface of the body. Conversely, by stimulating certain meridian points on the surface of the meridians, the functions of the corresponding viscera and organs connected to the meridians can be adjusted. Stimulating acupoints is essentially the same as stimulating the corresponding viscera and organs connected to those points.
