On this occasion of the re-publication, we sincerely thank millions of readers across the country.
Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (referred to as "Subject Olympiads") are the most extensive, widely participated in, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students in China. Subject Olympiads are derived from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, and comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness—core elements of quality education, which are also essential for future development.
Based on years of in-depth research on this activity and a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators from across the country dedicated to this field to compile and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology, totaling over 200 varieties. In terms of variety, quantity, and quality, our Olympiad books are the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally, and are the most appealing to primary and secondary school teachers and students.
The purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series are as follows:
High: Derived from textbooks but exceeding them. Derived from textbooks means it is written according to the latest [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education, while exceeding them means it is closely aligned with competition syllabi at all levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and ability requirements, fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing skills.
Accurate: Scientifically precise and well-structured. Each book is designed according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a progressive approach, providing in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
Innovative: The questions are novel, unique, and engaging. They gather the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both China and abroad, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
Refined: Selected examples are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and achievable. The focus is on learning through examples, generalizing from specific cases, and encouraging multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches. It emphasizes training thinking skills without resorting to rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
