Happiness Knowledge

Author: (German) Nietzsche (Nietzsche/F) / Huang Mingjia
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2005-04-01
Features: As the external world becomes increasingly rich and colorful, we find that human "poetry" and "thought" seem to be dwindling. This book explores the philosophy of poetry, filled with boundless wisdom. The authors completed their long journey of the spirit and emotion long before us, calling out to us from the front: live a life of thought, live a life of poetry. This book is part of the "Poetry and Thought Series." It was written by Nietzsche in 1882, with the fifth volume added in 1886. In the preface to the second edition (autumn of 1886), he mentioned that this book was written shortly after he recovered from a serious illness, calling it a "child born of disease and convulsion." Due to his unexpected recovery, "Joy in Knowledge" means "a carnival of the soul," and "the intoxication of recovery led him to elaborate on many irrational and absurd arguments, to express reckless sentiments, and to discuss various seemingly difficult but actually not so issues." This covers a wide range of topics, such as life, individual and group instincts, love, art, philosophy, science, morality, law, religion, social development, and more. Can it be said that the essence of Nietzsche's thought is largely contained in this extraordinary book? Passion is better than asceticism and hypocrisy; honesty, even if malicious, is better than losing oneself by adhering to traditional morality; a free person may be good or evil, but an unfree person dishonors human nature and therefore does not deserve the comfort of heaven or earth. In short, whoever wishes to be a free person must first safely become themselves. Freedom will not fall like a divine gift into a person's arms.
