Features: The conference also arranged a field visit to the Cao Hai area and a discussion with local farmer representatives. The meeting content was significant, the atmosphere was enthusiastic, the format was diverse, lively, and highly effective, receiving unanimous praise from all attendees. Delegates pointed out, "In China, most of the nationally impoverished counties are biodiversity-rich areas with established national nature reserves. Poverty leads to biodiversity protection being compromised, while poverty alleviation efforts sometimes result in unreasonable development of biodiversity, which are among the main reasons for the destruction and loss of biodiversity in China. Therefore, organically integrating biodiversity conservation with poverty alleviation efforts is fundamental to biodiversity conservation and a crucial task for poverty alleviation. All levels of government should pay high attention to this." Representatives from the State Council's Poverty Alleviation and Development Office stated that they will strengthen cooperation with the National Environmental Protection Administration and consider selecting some regions for pilot projects that combine biodiversity conservation with poverty alleviation.
