Features: This book views knowledge discovery systems as specific cognitive systems, biological organism evolution systems, and cognitive physical systems, revealing their inherent essence, laws, and complexity. It then applies these insights to mainstream development to enhance its mining efficiency and expand the depth and breadth of its applications. The book is positioned on the novel concepts of cognitive science, cognitive psychology, and cognitive biological behavior, proposing and implementing three principles or mechanisms centered around three core theorems—internal mechanism research (Chapter 4), which induces new structural models (Chapter 5), which in turn derives new technical methods (Chapter 6), leading to the development of novel practical intelligent systems (Chapter 7), and proposing discussions on complex-type knowledge discovery (Chapter 8). By this point, a systematic knowledge discovery theory based on internal mechanisms, KDTIM, with five levels, is constructed. Guided by KDTIM, an integrated, component-based knowledge discovery software system with independent intellectual property rights, ICCKDSS (Chapter 9), is designed and implemented. Based on KDTIM and ICCKDSS, typical applications in fields such as agriculture, modern distance education networks, and meteorology are presented (Chapter 10). As the theoretical foundation for these innovative research achievements, the logical, methodological, and philosophical foundations of knowledge discovery are provided (Chapter 1, Chapter 2, and Chapter 3, respectively). This book offers significant reference value for researchers in knowledge discovery, knowledge management, knowledge engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science, and related fields. It can also serve as a high-level textbook for Ph.D. and master's students in computer science and information technology.
