Features: The university is a place for nurturing talent for a century, and its fundamental role is to produce and create knowledge. With the development of higher education concepts, teaching methods, and institutional reforms, higher requirements have been raised for the construction and planning of university campuses. The quality of university campus construction is not only related to important issues such as a country's educational policies, training objectives, scale standards, and economic indicators, but it is also directly linked to the level of campus environmental planning and design. However, there are still many concerning issues in the campus planning and construction in mainland China. These issues are primarily reflected in: a shallow understanding of the concepts, objectives, and campus cultural traditions of contemporary higher education; excessive pursuit of graphical axes and visual artistic effects in campus planning and design; blindly pursuing high construction standards, while giving little consideration to specific regional site conditions, investment economic rationality, and the cultural connotation of the campus; an obsession with competition, large-scale expansion, occupying large amounts of prime agricultural land, and neglecting land use efficiency; weak national macro-control, leading to the proliferation of university towns, with improper regional resource allocation and layout. Additionally, when constructing campuses, natural elements in the base and surrounding environment are often "overly modified and insufficiently protected."
