Features: Regional anatomy is a crucial foundational discipline in clinical medicine. In line with the cultivation goals and requirements for five-year medical students in China in the 21st century, the authors have fully considered the prerequisite courses such as systematic anatomy and the subsequent courses, which include various clinical disciplines (especially surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and other clinical surgical and imaging diagnosis disciplines). They have carefully inherited the rigorous and scientific characteristics of the previous four national editions of the "Regional Anatomy" textbook while integrating and permeating the latest advancements in regional anatomy and clinical surgery from both domestic and international sources into the textbook. This textbook strives to minimize content overlap with systematic anatomy textbooks, emphasizing the distinctive focus of regional anatomy on studying the structures, layers, and adjacent relationships of various parts of the normal human body. To highlight the learning method of regional anatomy, which is primarily based on cadaver dissection, the authors have combined theoretical descriptions of regional anatomy with operational guidance. As regional anatomy is a morphological discipline, this textbook pays special attention to being richly illustrated with diagrams, ensuring close alignment and coordination. The illustrations are preferably multicolored, using red (arteries), blue (veins), green (lymphatic vessels), and yellow (nerves) to facilitate teaching and learning for both instructors and students. In line with the requirements of the 21st century to cultivate modern, globally-oriented, and future-focused medical professionals, this textbook also provides an index of commonly used regional anatomy terms in both English and Chinese, as well as a bibliography of references.
