Steel structure engineering

Author: Shen Zuyan

Publish Date: 2005-04-01
Features: The content of this book was selected to adapt to the new structural systems of building steel structures in China since the 1980s, the trend of developing building structural analysis methods towards the whole process, and effectively improving the ability of building structures to resist disaster loads. It begins by introducing the development of structural systems, analysis methods, and new technologies for disaster resistance of building steel structures in China, based on the author's many years of research achievements. It then introduces the general analysis theory of steel structures, mainly including the analysis theory of ultimate bearing capacity of steel structure members and the unified matrix method for nonlinear analysis of steel frame structures. Subsequently, it elaborates on some important theoretical issues frequently encountered in various steel structures, involving high-rise and ultra-high-rise steel structures, rigid large-span steel structures, flexible large-span steel structures, heavy-duty industrial steel structures, light steel structures, mast structures, plate steel structures, and many other aspects. Much of the content reflects the author's 50 years of research achievements.
Target Audience: This book can be read by undergraduate and graduate students in the field of structural engineering. It also serves as a valuable guide and reference for engineering technicians engaged in various types of steel structure design, as well as for teaching and research personnel in the field of building steel structures.
