Features: This book is written by the authors based on the "Basic Requirements for Teaching of Electronic Technology Foundation Courses in Higher Industrial Schools," addressing the problems and difficulties students encounter in their studies, combined with the authors' many years of teaching experience. It serves as a teaching reference book for the textbook "Fundamentals of Digital Electronic Technology" edited by the authors. It is organized according to the chapters of the textbook, covering: fundamentals of digital logic, fundamentals of hardware description language VHDL, integrated logic gates, analysis and design of combinational logic circuits, integrated flip-flops, circuits for pulse generation and shaping, analysis and design of sequential logic circuits, semiconductor memory and programmable logic devices, as well as analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion. Each chapter includes teaching requirements, basic concepts and analysis basis, self-check questions on basic concepts and typical examples, and exercises with solutions. The book expands on some content of the textbook through typical examples, provides detailed introductions to the steps and methods of analyzing and designing various examples, points out their difficulties and common pitfalls. The appendix contains the digital portions of the final examination papers for undergraduate students and the entrance examination papers for postgraduate students of Xi'an Jiaotong University in the past three years on "Fundamentals of Digital Electronic Technology." This book can be used as a learning guide and reference book for undergraduate and junior college students in electrical and information engineering, instrumentation, electronic information science, and other related majors on "Fundamentals of Digital Electronic Technology," as well as a review reference book for candidates preparing for postgraduate entrance examinations.
[Preface] Preface
Fundamentals of Digital Electronic Technology is an introductory technical foundation course that introduces digital electronic devices, circuits, and applications. This course features both fundamental theories such as logic algebra and practical analysis and design of digital circuits. Beginners often find it challenging to "get started" and even harder to master it well. To address this, we have written a learning guide to accompany Zhang Kecnong's "Fundamentals of Digital Electronic Technology," guiding students to learn the methods of analyzing and designing commonly used digital logic circuits more effectively and quickly. The book is written chapter by chapter, following the content and order of the "Fundamentals of Digital Electronic Technology" textbook. Each chapter is divided into the following four parts:
(1) Teaching Requirements
This section provides teaching requirements for each knowledge point in the teaching content, categorized into three levels: "mastering," "correctly understanding," and "generally knowing."
(2) Basic Concepts and Analysis Basis
This section summarizes the basic concepts, basic circuits, basic analysis methods, and the basis for calculations in each chapter of the textbook. The purpose is to help students organize the various concepts, analysis and design methods, and their connections in the teaching content, serving as a summary of the textbook chapters. This aims to make the course content more concise, simpler, and easier to grasp.
(3) Self-Check Questions on Basic Concepts and Typical Examples
This section first allows students to assess their mastery of basic concepts through self-check questions, and then deepens their understanding of basic concepts, analysis and design methods through the analysis of typical examples. It helps students master basic problem-solving methods and skills, improve their analytical and design abilities, and be able to solve some basic engineering problems.
(4) Exercises and Solutions
This section provides detailed solutions and answers to the exercises in the "Fundamentals of Digital Electronic Technology" textbook.
The writing of this book was mainly completed by Zhang Kecnong (chapters 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 9) and Duan Junzheng (chapters 3, 6, 7). Gao Ge participated in the partial writing of chapters 4 and 5. Zhang Kecnong was responsible for drafting the outline and the overall editing of the book. Graduate students Zhao Yunpeng, Zhang Qinglong, Lu Jiahua, and others also participated in some parts of the book.
During the writing process of this book, in addition to summarizing the teaching experience of the Department of Digital Electronic Technology Foundation at Xi'an Jiaotong University, we also referred to several textbooks and teaching reference books. We do not list them one by one here, but the authors sincerely thank them. Due to time and limitations, there are undoubtedly many shortcomings and errors in this book. We hope readers will point them out for correction.
