Features: AutoCAD is a general-purpose CAD software developed by Autodesk in the United States. It is the most popular 2D drawing software today, with a wide user base. Since the first release of AutoCAD R1.0 in 1982, after more than ten updates, AutoCAD has become the world's most popular CAD software, and its file format has become the industry's default standard. The version mentioned in this book is the latest version: AutoCAD 2005 Simplified Chinese Edition. This version has made significant improvements in many aspects, such as running speed, editing functions, printing, network functions, and help systems, fully reflecting the design principles of being quick, convenient, practical, efficient, and people-oriented. It meets the needs of the internet era and enhances the collaborative requirements of engineering design. Learning AutoCAD 2005 is a current requirement for many designers. For them, pursuing precise design and humanized modeling is equally important, and AutoCAD 2005 perfectly meets both needs. Therefore, we have written this practical training tutorial for AutoCAD 2005, hoping it will be helpful to your learning and work. We also hope you can provide valuable feedback so that we can continuously improve, enhance the quality of the manuscript, and offer readers even higher-quality learning materials. Below is a brief introduction to the content of this book:
Chapter 1: Introduction to AutoCAD 2005 Simplified Chinese Edition – Introduces the working interface and command input methods of AutoCAD 2005.
Chapter 2: Work Environment and Object Properties – Introduces basic operations of graphics, settings of the drawing environment, settings and editing of object properties, drawing units and limits, CAD standards, etc.
Chapter 3: Display Control – Introduces basic view operations such as zooming and panning, as well as the functions of multiple viewports, bird's-eye view, and control methods for display properties.
Chapter 4: Drawing Basic Graphics – Introduces methods for drawing linear objects, curve objects, auxiliary drawing objects, regions, and boundary objects.
Chapter 5: Coordinate Systems – Introduces methods of representing coordinate systems, the use of coordinate systems, user coordinate systems, and methods for creating, saving, and restoring UCS.
Chapter 6: Editing Graphic Objects – Introduces methods of selecting objects, editing basic objects, editing special objects, and grip editing.
Chapter 7: Object Snap Applications – Introduces the application of grids and snaps, object snaps, automatic snaps, and equal division points.
Chapter 8: 3D Drawing and Editing – Introduces how to create 3D graphics, edit 3D graphics, and post-process 3D graphics.
Chapter 9: Basic 3D Operations – Introduces 3D dynamic observation, 3D continuous observation, 3D panning, 3D zooming, presetting 3D views, and dynamic modification of 3D views.
Chapter 10: Filling Patterns – Introduces various filling commands, how to fill patterns and regions, and how to edit pattern fills.
Chapter 11: Text Annotation – Introduces the creation and editing of text annotations, as well as text style management.
Chapter 12: Dimensioning – Introduces the creation and editing of dimension annotations, dimension style management, and geometric tolerances.
Chapter 13: Blocks – Introduces block attributes and management, as well as the application of model/paper space.
Chapter 14: Printing AutoCAD 2005 Graphics – Introduces how to create print layouts and configure printers, as well as methods for printing graphics.
Chapter 15: Comprehensive Application Examples – Provides the design ideas and production processes of two comprehensive examples. These examples are: Mechanical Part Drawing – Steering Wheel, and Architectural Floor Plan – Interior Layout Drawing.
Appendix A provides answers to some exercises for reference.
Appendix B lists common AutoCAD commands.
This book focuses on the application of AutoCAD in engineering (architecture, mechanical, electronics, civil, etc.) design, providing a comprehensive introduction from basic knowledge (including an introduction to the drawing environment and basic operations) to application skills and development. The difficulty level is arranged in a way suitable for a broad range of learners, and the accompanying exercises also help achieve the effect of learning by example. The content of this book is detailed and serves as a practical training tutorial aimed at intermediate and advanced readers. However, some sections also provide reference value for AutoCAD experts. Each chapter begins with teaching objectives, key points, and difficulties, interspersed with typical small examples during the explanation, and concludes with exercises to enhance learning. This book is very suitable for training classes.

This book is a specialized practical training manual written specifically for AutoCAD training classes. It comprehensively introduces the basic operations of AutoCAD 2005 Simplified Chinese Edition and the methods for drawing 2D and 3D graphics in AutoCAD. The content of each chapter is arranged entirely in a teaching mode: first, teaching objectives, key points, and difficulties are provided to give students a general understanding of the key content of the chapter; then, the key content of the chapter is learned through a combination of basic knowledge explanation and example exercises, with various tips and explanations interspersed to help understand the knowledge points; finally, there is a chapter summary and review exercises to consolidate the learning of the chapter content. After completing the basic knowledge of AutoCAD drawing, the last chapter also provides two comprehensive application examples to help students improve their comprehensive design and application skills. The accompanying CD-ROM provides video demonstrations of key examples and source files for reference by students.
