Information technology is the soul of modern logistics. Without logistics informatization, there can be no modern logistics. The difference between modern and traditional logistics lies in the application of modern information technology, which achieves logistics informatization, expands service scope, and significantly improves efficiency. Niuyulong's "Logistics Information Technology Series" covers a wide range of topics, combining theory with practice, and is believed to benefit readers with varying needs. This series consists of four volumes: "Knowledge and Application of ERP," "Knowledge and Application of EDI," "Knowledge and Application of GPS," and "Knowledge and Application of Business Logistics Systems."
GPS stands for the Global Positioning System. Initially used in military applications, it is now widely adopted in industries such as transportation and surveying. By integrating positioning technology with wireless communication (GSM or CDMA), geographic information management technology (GIS), and other high-tech solutions, it enables vehicle monitoring. Signals are transmitted to the vehicle monitoring center via GSM channels, where differential technology calculates location data. This data is then displayed on maps using GIS, allowing for vehicle positioning, navigation, anti-theft, service rescue, remote monitoring, and trajectory recording through service centers.
GPS is extensively used in public transportation, subways, private vehicles, and other sectors abroad. In China, its application is still in its early stages but is growing rapidly. The transportation industry has fully recognized its advantages in traffic informatization management. The market growth rate of the GPS industry is projected to exceed 45% over the next decade, with the logistics industry being the primary market for future GPS applications. With China's current 10 million freight vehicles, the market potential is enormous. The growth rate of in-vehicle applications could reach 50%.
"Knowledge and Application of GPS" will guide you into an efficient, accurate, and secure logistics world and a new realm of relaxed, warm, and pleasant social life.
