Features: Strictly speaking, this is not a "book," so we call it a "commemorative." It is a collection of captured moments and heartfelt words, a sentiment neither of us would want to lose. It once truly warmed us in the winter of 2003. In front of this treasure collection that the wisdom and efforts of many, perhaps long-winded introductions and grandiloquent prefaces are unnecessary. What is collected here has long been a resonance from the depths of your and my hearts. What I can write here is merely a repetitive declaration and ramble. During the creation of this book, we were fortunate to connect with the production team of the new version of Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, the relevant leaders of Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, who provided strong support and assistance, giving us access to some very valuable materials. While organizing these materials, we were deeply moved by the subtle details that were not presented to the audience. Whether this version will become a classic may no longer need to be debated or argued. We only want to offer our sincere respect in the face of the sincerity it has already and the achievements it has gained. I have always liked a word—"serendipity"—for the unknown and mystery it embodies, or the sharp perception it gives, whether bringing joy or pain. The 2003 version of Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, with its 40 episodes of swordplay and romantic tales, a tragic yet enlightening heroic story from Jin Yong's pen, making us unknowingly encounter the passion and faith lost in real life, and a surge of fervent blood and tears. And this seems to have been unforeseen. What was unforeseen too were the reflections and thoughts that continued beyond the scenes of the drama, the genuine emotions and attachments that expanded from keyboards to the internet. Whether blind or, it was a memorable persistence in our youth. Writing this text, I once again revisited the tragic and desolate beauty of the final episode at Yanmen Pass. The last scene faded. Gazing blankly, I saw the flowing mists and the lush yet desolate trees on the mountain, witnessing the end of a heroic tale. Stories always come to an end, and memories always blur. But let me quietly preserve some things, in the joys and sorrows that time has cut away, and let such a sentiment return to me years later, on an unknown sunny day. —Fei Xue Yang Hua
