Features: Interregional Criminal Law refers to the general term for legal norms that propose legal principles to coordinate conflicts between the criminal legal systems of different jurisdictions within a multinational country, along with the establishment of corresponding legal integration mechanisms. Whether presented as a clear legal concept or as an implied rule, the legal principles referred to by interregional criminal law can only be adopted within a multinational country. Such countries may be federal states or those in a state of division. Interregional criminal law includes both substantive legal rules and procedural norms. It does not necessarily manifest as codified law (sometimes it may be customary law) but primarily consists of a set of rules to resolve conflicts in criminal jurisdiction and corresponding legal application issues between different jurisdictions within a single country. To address China's interregional criminal legal issues, the Ministry of Justice listed the research project "Study on Interregional Criminal Law Conflict and Criminal Judicial Assistance in China" as a senior-level research project under the "Rule of Law Construction and Legal Theory Research Program" in 2002. After approval, the author, as the Director of the Criminal Law Research Center at Renmin University of China, a national key research base, led the project. Over the past two and a half years, our research team has conducted a comprehensive study on China's interregional criminal legal issues and prepared research reports on specific topics. This book is one of the final research outcomes of the project, including 10 research reports on China's interregional criminal legal issues, covering the resolution of criminal law conflicts and jurisdictional conflicts among the four regions of one country, as well as issues of criminal judicial assistance between mainland China and the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, and between mainland China and Taiwan, among others.
