Features: The Basic Teaching Department of Modeling focuses on enhancing students' understanding and mastery of the rules governing the formal language of painting and the organizational principles of visual aesthetics in compositions. It conducts a deconstructive study of the various elements that constitute painting formats and, based on this, experiments with diverse formal languages to integrate and unify complete, cohesive scenes. The goal is to establish a rational understanding of the rules of visual aesthetics, enabling students to express and create freely in their artworks.
Through teaching units such as composition studies, black-and-white composition studies, and color summarization and combination studies, students are trained to develop a rational awareness and application of the fundamental principles of formal patterns. This approach also aims to unleash students' imagination and unique aesthetic sensibilities, enrich their experience with expressive forms, and enhance their ability to integrate scenes, laying a solid knowledge foundation for advanced professional creation.
Students will learn to recognize and master the morphological combinations of modeling elements—points, lines, and planes—as well as the aesthetic principles of black, white, and gray layouts. They will explore the basic rules of formal composition and human perceptual psychology. Through case analyses of Eastern and Western artworks, students will identify their fundamental patterns. A reflective essay is required.
The study examines the different emotional atmospheres and connotations reflected in various compositional methods, with particular emphasis on training students to generalize, summarize, and integrate objects in real-world scenes. Students will master the basic construction principles and expressive methods of formal language.
