Life Weekly was founded on October 11, 1925, in Shanghai. Starting in 1926, it was edited by Zou Taofen, reaching a circulation of 150,000 copies and becoming a highly influential publication. In its inaugural editorial, Zou Taofen wrote: "The attitude of this magazine is as if every week we invite readers to gather with friends on a Sunday afternoon for a relaxed conversation, free of constraints, avoiding stiffness, and striving for lightness, liveliness, simplicity, elegance, and."
In 1995, coinciding with the centennial of Zou Taofen's birth, Life·Reading·New Sanlian Bookstore inherited the tradition of Life and resumed publishing The Sanlian Life Weekly on January 14. In the "Editor's Note" of that issue, General Editor Dong Xiuyu wrote: "Today, we are in a great era at the turn of the century, and this is our fortune. How to reflect this era through the ordinary life stories of the common people, highlight the new social issues that people widely care about, and provide fresh life concepts and information is the key we must strive to achieve."
Over the past decade, The Sanlian Life Weekly has remained a faithful chronicler of the new era's development, responding with keen insight to new trends, new ideas, and new currents. It hased new hot topics, new generations, and new lifestyles, committed to delivering the fastest, richest, and most engaging weekly news.
