Features: This collection of "Suzhou (Erhu, Zhonghu, Gaohu) Sheet Music" is compiled according to the principles of "China National Musical Instrument Works·Solo Pieces," guided by the main idea of "ensuring that representative and outstanding works from all over the country are included as much as possible." It includes 138 pieces of music, organized into four parts:
1. Creative Works;
2. Traditional and Folk Music;
3. Transplanted Works;
4. Zhonghu and Gaohu Music, as well as Guangdong Music.
Part 1 selects 71 solo pieces from the past 50 years, based on the length and approximate difficulty of the music. Most of these are teaching pieces commonly used in music schools and popular works frequently performed by cultural groups for the general public.
Part 2 includes 32 pieces, including all of A Bing's (three solo pieces). Based on Liu Tianhua's role as a pioneer and founder of modern and contemporary erhu music, his works are already widely used as traditional teaching materials in music schools and by erhu players. Therefore, all of Liu Tianhua's erhu pieces and some traditional pieces passed down by him are included in this section. Additionally, to allow players and learners of the erhu to explore and master the folk music styles of different regions more broadly, some typical "Jiangnan Silk and Bamboo" pieces and other representative folk music styles in erhu performance are also included, such as: River Water, Playing Music, A Branch of Flower, and Flowing Wave Melody. These pieces are included due to their unique musical styles and performance techniques.
Part 3 consists of 15 adapted and transplanted violin or other orchestral pieces.
Part 4 is selected to help players more broadly master the performance characteristics and styles of the zhonghu and gaohu. This book's selection emphasizes covering outstanding erhu (zhonghu, gaohu) works and strives to highlight representative key pieces.
