Features: The first edition of "College English Test Band 4 Sample Test Collection" was published in 1991 and underwent a partial revision in 1998. Since its initial publication, the book has remained best-selling for over a decade, demonstrating its alignment with the practical needs of college English teaching in China and its popularity among teachers and students. With the implementation of a new teaching syllabus at the end of 1999 and reforms in teaching methods, the landscape of college English teaching has seen significant changes in recent years, making the second edition of this book no longer fully adaptable to the requirements of 21st-century college English teaching. We have decided to conduct a comprehensive revision of the book, with this revision primarily focusing on the following aspects: adjusting question types and updating and broadening the content. Additionally, to facilitate self-study, this revision has expanded the scope of annotations and provided brief analytical explanations for the answers to Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and Structure, and Cloze. The book includes ten sets of college English test Band 4 sample tests, each followed by answers and concise analytical explanations. At the end of the book, there are audio transcripts for the listening section. The questions in this test collection are designed in accordance with the requirements of the current "College English Teaching Syllabus." The syllabus stipulates that the goal of college English teaching is to cultivate students' strong reading abilities and certain listening, speaking, writing, and translation skills, enabling them to communicate information in English. Therefore, the questions primarily assess students' language application skills while also evaluating their grasp of grammatical structures and word usage. The revision volume of this book accounts for approximately 70% of the entire book, so it can be said that it is essentially a completely new book. We hope it will better meet the needs of new readers in the 21st century.
