Features: This collection includes one monograph, five historical records, two chronicles, and six selected works, all based on the fundamental content of Sun Yanzhao's Compendium of Anti-Qing Events in Ming Dynasty Wenzhou. Therefore, Compendium of Anti-Qing Events is placed at the beginning as the general outline. These works are all part of the ancient books collection of the Wenzhou Library.
Purpose of Wenzhou Literary Series:
Adhering to the important thought of Comrade Jiang Zemin's "Three Represents," following the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Collection and Preservation of Ancient Chinese Works, and upholding the direction of "serving the people and serving socialism" as well as the principle of "let a hundred flowers bloom and let a hundred schools of thought contend," this series promotes the fine academic tradition of the Yongjia School, focusing on enhancing cultural standards and academic atmosphere. It actively advances the development of material and spiritual civilization in Wenzhou, providing a comprehensive and innovative set of basic local literature resources for researchers in history and literature, cultural workers, and university students for reference and research. While striving to produce high-quality works, the series also aims to cultivate young scholars dedicated to cultural causes, respectful of academic norms, and passionate about textual research, achieving the dual goal of publishing books and nurturing talent.
Requirements for the series:
(1) Works included should be related to Wenzhou or written by Wenzhou natives in terms of content.
(2) The geographical scope is based on the modern administrative divisions, including Lucheng, Wenhai, Longwan districts, Rui'an and Leqing cities, and Yongjia, Pingyang, Cangnan, Wencheng, Taishun, and Dongtou counties.
(3) The publication date should be before 1949, with occasional exceptions for specific topics.
(4) The content should primarily focus on important ancient historical records in literature, history, philosophy, and science and technology.
(5) The process: Prioritize the rescue and preservation of manuscripts, handwritten copies, and rare editions, while also organizing collected works and scattered materials. Give priority to works with national influence, high academic value, and originality.
(6) Editing methods: Include collation, punctuation, annotations, and prefaces, as well as appendices. The work must be rigorous and meticulous, using earlier and more accurate editions as the basis, respecting the original titles, chapters, and text, and noting the sources or locations of the materials.
