Features: Computer music is an interdisciplinary field that combines computer technology and music theory, as well as a comprehensive discipline. In practical applications, it has its own logic and principles, involving musicology, MIDI studies, acoustics, digital audio-visual studies, and related natural sciences. So far, there have been many books published on computer music software and hardware tools, but books on the theory and application of computer music are scarce. This may be due to its comprehensive, flexible, and diverse applications, as well as the frequent updates of software and hardware. The purpose of this book is not to introduce the application of music software and hardware functions, but to explain the theoretical basis and practical applications surrounding music and computers. Through years of learning, teaching, research, and practice in this field, the author presents general, conventional, and practical explanations following the process of computer music production. To promote widespread application, common software is selected for instruction, popular folk songs are used as examples, and simple arrangement methods are demonstrated, guided by basic equipment. All MIDI and audio examples in the accompanying CD-ROM are sourced from computer integrated sound cards. On one hand, this serves to guide teaching; on the other hand, it facilitates self-study for music enthusiasts, which is the goal of this book.
