To promote the implementation of mechanical industry standards and meet the demand for standard texts among readers, our press has systematically compiled and published the "China Mechanical Industry Standard Series" based on professional and category classifications. This series consists of five parts: Comprehensive Technology, Basic Interchangeability, General Components, Common Processing Technologies, and General Products. Each part includes several volumes, and "Gears and Gear Drives" is one of the volumes in the General Components section. This volume was jointly compiled by our third editorial department and the National Technical Committee for Gear Standardization, collecting 76 currently valid standards approved before November 2004. Among them, there are 61 national standards and 15 mechanical industry standards. It is published in two volumes. The content includes: Basic Standards, Involute Cylindrical Gears, Circular Arc Cylindrical Gears, Bevel Gears and Hypoid Gears, Worm Gears and Worm Wheels, Planetary Gears, Gear Material Heat Treatment, Gear Unit Testing, and Others.
