Features: Professor Fang Yuqing has been engaged in teaching Chinese as a second language for over forty years and has accumulated a wealth of linguistic materials. This book was completed in the early 1980s and was used as a lecture manuscript on multiple occasions. The revised edition consists of 20 chapters, providing a comprehensive, systematic, and detailed explanation of Chinese grammar, with particular emphasis on explaining the difficulties that foreigners encounter in learning. The arrangement of the four parts—dynamic category, quantity category, spatiotemporal category, and mood category—was created by the author. Most of the example sentences are selected from works. At the end of the book, there are tables of noun and measure word combinations, as well as verb and dynamic particles combinations, making it very convenient for reference and review. Each chapter includes a substantial number of exercises. The solutions to the exercises are compiled in a separate volume.
