Features: The literary and artistic works of this renowned imperial dynasty have now been released, perfectly fulfilling people's universal curiosity about mysterious emperors, and naturally offering insights into historical experiences and lessons. The President of Shaanxi Writers' Association and famous writer Chen Zhihu, after reviewing this massive series, felt that the efforts of his friends over the years have at least achieved such value: they have woven materials from official and unofficial histories together with abundant imagination, filled the gaps in historical and unofficial accounts with vivid details, and created dozens of lifelike, distinctly characterized imperial figures. Their existence is not merely because of their imperial status, but also because of their charm as literary archetypes. Of course, the other values of this series will be discovered by the readers themselves.
Famous Chinese writer Mo Yan: This book series stands out among the many historical literary works that have emerged in recent years. With meticulous planning, wise reflections, and a cohesive design, it embodies a grand and timeless quality. The illustrations, ink wash paintings, fine brushwork paintings, calligraphy, and seal carvings in the series are all crafted by renowned middle-aged and young Chinese artists. These works are not only outstanding but, more importantly, they deeply grasp the content and significance of the literary works, creating them anew with their own understanding and unique perspectives. This complements and enhances the original works, greatly elevating the artistic content and aesthetic realm of the series, adding visual appeal—a feat in itself.
Famous critic Xu Encun of the Chinese Academy of Arts and Sciences: Books and legends about emperors have existed throughout history, innumerable in quantity. However, in terms of systematicity, completeness, and richness, none compare to this book series, written jointly by dozens of contemporary writers under the title "Famous Emperors of China." "Famous Emperors of China" is a series of long historical novels. The authors do not merely pile up rigid and dry historical events and figures, but instead, based on historical facts, blend unofficial, romantic, and secret histories into a cohesive narrative. Using masterful storytelling techniques, they vividly depict dozens of lifelike, character-rich emperors, making the series enjoyable and easy to follow with captivating plots.
"Famous Emperors of China" adopts a high-investment, large-scale production approach, inviting dozens of renowned Chinese calligraphers, painters, and seal carvers to create unique calligraphy, ink wash portraits, fine brushwork portraits, and numerous illustrations for each volume. This greatly enhances the artistic and aesthetic value of the series. The seal carvings are seasoned, ancient, profound, reflecting the weight and desolation of history; the calligraphy ranges from regular script to running script, all powerful yet fluid; the paintings, whether ink wash or fine brushwork, are lifelike and striking; and the multiple illustrations vividly recreate historical scenes.
With cleverly crafted ideas, innovative designs, and exquisite production, "Famous Emperors of China" not only offers enthralling plots but also presents emperors of past dynasties through various art forms—books, paintings, calligraphy, and illustrations. It integrates literary appreciation with artistic aesthetics, achieving a perfect harmony between literature and art. Truly, it stands as a masterpiece of contemporary historical literary works and can be called a gem among the many historical literary works of recent years.
