Features: This book primarily focuses on monomeric Chinese medicinal herbs when discussing their pharmacological effects and clinical applications, without taking the active components of Chinese medicine as the starting point to reveal the mechanisms of action at the molecular level. The structural formulas, molecular formulas, molecular weights, and physicochemical properties of active components are mostly collected in books on the chemistry of Chinese medicine. Currently, there are no books that combine these two aspects, which prevents a systematic and comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the active components of Chinese medicine and their pharmacological effects. This cannot provide researchers and numerous readers with holistic, systematic, broad-perspective, and information-rich research materials, causing many inconveniences. This book addresses these shortcomings by organically integrating the two aspects and revealing the pharmacological effects and clinical applications of Chinese medicine for the first time based on the active components. It elaborates from multiple angles and levels on the complex relationships between the structural formulas, molecular formulas, molecular weights, physicochemical properties of the active components of Chinese medicine and their pharmacological effects and clinical applications.
This book includes 344 active components of Chinese medicine, arranged in alphabetical order by Latin name, followed by a stroke index and a Pinyin index. Under each component, there are columns for the component name (including synonyms), chemical name, structural formula, molecular formula and molecular weight, physicochemical properties, source, pharmacological effects (including pharmacological effects, body absorption process, and toxicological effects), and clinical applications (including adverse reactions).
