Features: Many beginners in painting start by learning sketching. Sketching is a fundamental course in plastic arts. Sketching refers to simple depiction, usually involving a single color. Common tools for sketching include pencils, charcoal, ink, etc. Beginners generally prefer to use pencils for drawing. Pencils are relatively easy to master, simple to operate, and possess rich expressive capabilities. They can be used to create both concise and bright works as well as detailed and intricate ones, with a balance of firmness and flexibility, and a relaxed and effortless feel. The techniques of sketching can be broadly divided into two major categories: structural sketching and chiaroscuro sketching. Structural sketching primarily uses lines to shape forms, emphasizing the interplay of object structures and spatial perspective, characterized by certainty and generalization. Chiaroscuro sketching, on the other hand, utilizes the light and shadow relationships on objects, employing methods like black-and-white contrast and gradual tonal transitions to depict form structures, resulting in a sense of depth and spatiality. Training in basic sketching can effectively cultivate beginners' correct observation methods, helping them recognize and understand the structural relationships of objects, thereby enabling them to accurately and vividly portray subjects while mastering fundamental expressive techniques. Basic sketching training should follow the principles of cognitive development, adhering to the approach of progressing from simple to complex and from shallow to deep.
