Features: In August 2003, my book Discussions on Modern Chinese Thought History was published in mainland China by Social Sciences Academic Press. I am grateful to Mr. He Zhaotian for his promotion and Mr. Yang Qun for his efforts, which allowed my hard work to be presented to the academic community in mainland China. I sincerely hope to meet like-minded scholars and support each other through friendship. Those who share the same vision will naturally lead the way. In the same October, Mr. and Mrs. He Zhaotian were invited to visit the Institute of Philosophy, Academia Sinica in Taipei for two months and had the opportunity to meet. They brought with them a handwritten note from Mr. Yang Qun of Social Sciences Academic Press, asking me to publish a sequel to my book. I deeply appreciate the recognition from the academic community and the kindness of Mr. Yang and Mr. He. Therefore, I selected 15 of my articles and added one appendix, sending them to Beijing in March 2004 for publication preparation. Mr. He Zhaotian was invited to attend a conference and came to Taipei again in May of the same year to discuss the publication. After that, I returned to my residence in Toronto. It has been over four months since then. Recently, Mr. He Zhaotian sent me a message via phone, asking me to write a preface, which gave me the opportunity to express my gratitude and the story behind this work. — Wang Ermin, October 2004
