A convoluted and legendary tale of courtly pastimes, a mysterious and turbulent love story in the Aegean Sea, a curse, and a destined 200-year saga of love's vicissitudes. Only the desolate mountains and rivers remain, remembering the endless entanglement of love and hate. I, Ilhan Arughun, swear by the name of the Almighty Allah, with the lives of ten thousand people in Persia, that in the descendants of the Kokezhen princess who have tarnished their reputation and disgraced the honor of my Ilkhanate, if any woman is born, she shall be like the flames of hell, spreading calamity, bringing eternal ruin to every member of her family!
In my youthful days, I once loved the Japanese manga The Daughter of Nymphea, where the author, through the heroine's voice, said: "Beyond time, beyond space, I have sworn eternal alliance with the Pharaoh of ancient Egypt." And in this Desolate Mountains and Rivers, we also join forces with the ancient paintings to pursue the mysterious lineage that has always governed her: yearning for love yet repeatedly missing it, searching for her origins yet destined to drift like a willow leaf. All of it resembles the exquisite CG animations in a game, but transformed into elegant or passionate words.
