Features: The core of landscape culture is the aesthetic consciousness of nature, which originates from people's different perceptions of nature, and such differences are, in turn, constrained by the process of social and cultural development. The formation and evolution of a certain natural aesthetic consciousness, as an aspect of national cultural morphology, often contains deeper and more unique cultural factors. The traditional Chinese social and political structure determines the long-term confrontation and unity between the scholar-official class, the mainstay of traditional culture, and the centralized system. This confrontation and unity are often manifested in various forms, and landscape culture undoubtedly belongs to one of the most important domains. With scholars as the main force, the generalization and diffusion of landscape culture even affect the changes in the entire concept of humanities, creating a unique "landscape culture system" in traditional culture. Historically, the formation of natural aesthetic consciousness is often accompanied by the vitality of human consciousness, the release of human emotions, and the awareness of human mentality. Rather than discovering beauty in nature, it is more accurate to say that people discover themselves in nature. Because the grasp of (natural) objects by human perception is an activity in which the subject intuitively perceives itself in the object world, an activity in which the subject discovers, recognizes, affirms, and creates itself in the object world, and the realization of human self-worth in external things. The entire process of the development of Chinese landscape culture confirms this point. The main text of this book consists of twelve chapters, the first nine of which focus on tracing the origins, providing a summary overview of the main lines of development of poetry and painting before the Tang Dynasty and the evolution of landscape culture. The last three chapters focus on rectifying the foundations, conducting comprehensive studies from two perspectives centered on the integration of landscape poetry and painting. The five appendices supplement relevant chapters of this book, aiming to present a complete picture.
