Features: In the cultivation of orchids, the prevention and control of pests and diseases is a crucial technical aspect. The occurrence of pests and diseases in orchids is influenced by internal and external factors: Internally, it is due to poor root growth and weak disease resistance of the plants; Externally, it is because climatic or environmental conditions are suitable for the growth and reproduction of pathogens and pests. Effective measures for pest and disease control include: First, strengthening water and fertilizer management to cultivate strong seedlings and enhance plant disease resistance; Second, appropriately spraying broad-spectrum fungicides during hot and humid weather (such as during the moldy rain season) to prevent disease occurrence; Third, making accurate diagnoses at the early stages of pest and disease outbreaks and adopting corresponding effective methods to curb their spread. To help orchid growers visually identify various orchid pests and diseases and take targeted prevention measures, thereby improving control effectiveness, we conducted surveys in orchid production areas across different regions, collected specimens, took color photographs of pests and diseases in the field, and combined this with our years of practical experience to compile this book. This book introduces 21 major orchid pests and diseases and 8 main pests. It features over 180 color photographs to illustrate the symptoms of various diseases and the morphological characteristics of pests, supplemented with brief text explanations of their occurrence patterns and control methods. All recommended pesticides for pest and disease control are highly safe and effective. This book strives to be practical and easy to understand.
