Chapters 3 to 6 introduce common statistical methods, including hypothesis testing, parameter estimation, non-parametric testing, analysis of variance, regression analysis, and covariance analysis. Chapter 7 introduces the basic methods of experimental design, including sampling methods. The appendix at the end of the book covers the basics of matrices, statistical calculations using Excel, and common statistical tables. The content of the entire book revolves around the purpose of application, striving to be both in-depth and accessible while also including sufficient theoretical derivations to help readers grasp the applicable conditions, scope, and advantages/disadvantages of various methods. Examples are provided to supplement the introduction of each method, and exercises are included at the end of each chapter. This book is suitable as a textbook for undergraduate students in various fields of life sciences and can also be used for self-study. In addition to examples and exercises from the author's own work, some are also adapted from the reference books listed at the end of the book.
