Features: This edition of the China Economic Outlook Forum is an excellent way. Through the internet, experts and scholars can exchange opinions with a broad audience of netizens, fostering greater concern for the development of China's economy and allowing everyone to hear the analysis and perspectives of experts and scholars on various issues. This holds significant importance for leveraging the role of the internet and the contributions of experts and scholars. – Cheng Siwei, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress
Building on the success of the previous forum, the Beijing University of Economics and Management, in collaboration with Sina Finance and China CITIC Press, once again hosted the Second China Economic Outlook Forum. The event was also supported by the Economic Observer and generously sponsored by Shiseido. Opening on December 16, 2004, and spanning the New Year, it concluded on January 9, 2005, with a declaration of its conclusion by Vice Chairman Cheng Siwei. The forum invited 23 guests, including renowned domestic scholars, leaders from relevant government departments, and influential figures in the business community. They engaged in fair, free, and in-depth discussions and exchanges on ten topics—economic structure, finance, opening-up, education, land system, social security and healthcare, fiscal and tax policies, state-owned enterprises, rural and agricultural development, and macroeconomics—through the Sina News Guest Video Interview Center. The discussions reviewed the hot topics of 2004, looked ahead to the economic and policy trends of 2005, and explored the key priorities for future reforms and development opportunities.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Beijing University of Economics and Management initiated the first China Economic Outlook Forum at the end of 2003. The highlight of the China Economic Outlook Forum lies in systematically analyzing and discussing China's economy, bringing together experts and scholars to share their insights on the bright prospects for China's development. The collaboration between online, print, television media, and research institutions is a distinctive innovation of the China Economic Outlook Forum, providing a platform for those passionate about China's reform efforts to engage in dialogue.
Looking forward to China 2005
