Features: Since 1901, the awarding of the Nobel Prize has been regarded as "a gift left to humanity by a man who sought to promote the cause of human progress and welfare, with the purest idealism as his purpose." However, it has long been a riddle left to the world to decipher how to interpret and execute the will, leading to the claim that "the history of the Nobel Prize in Literature seems to be a history of interpreting a will with ambiguous wording." This mystery has puzzled the world for a century and left the Swedish Academy in a quandary for a century. Theoretically, the Literature Prize is awarded to those "who have created the best works with an idealistic in literature." After World War II, the selection of the Nobel Prize in Literature placed greater emphasis on "literary pioneers" and also believed that only a true portrayal of the value and dilemmas of human existence could be considered a "historically profound idealistic."
As of now, there have been 101 Nobel Prize winners in Literature; the prize will become a permanent and timeless award. This book collects fifty-seven works, primarily novels, awarded from 1901 to 2004. Most translators are renowned experts in translation, with many being specialists in the literature of their respective countries.
