Features: This manual is divided into two parts: Part 1 (Chapters 1-6) focuses on explaining the basic theories and fundamental knowledge of formulas, including their concepts, brief history, composition, classification, usage, and dosage. In accordance with the Rare Animals Protection Law, all instances of rhino horn in the original formulas have been replaced with buffalo horn.
Chief Indications: The first line lists the primary diseases or conditions, followed by accompanying symptoms. When multiple chief indications are present, they are listed as (1), (2), (3), etc., in separate lines.
Formula Explanation: This is a key section of the book. It first distinguishes between primary and secondary symptoms, then clarifies the pathogenesis. Based on the principles of "establishing treatment according to symptoms" and "formulas derived from methods," it explains the rationale for selecting principal, deputy, assistant, and envoy herbs using unified standards. To help readers understand the modern pharmacological research and progress in clinical applications of formulas, the book includes [Clinical Applications] and [Modern Research] sections. For easy reference, an index of formula names arranged by stroke order is appended at the end of the book.
