Features: Chinese painting is currently in a period of significant development, and publications about Chinese painters and their works are also experiencing a major boom. Among various collections of painters, using the birth era of the painters as the basis for selection and focusing on the outstanding figures of the same generation is indeed a fresh concept. As the ancient saying goes, "Each generation produces its own talent," this approach does not provide a concentrated perspective on the temporal "generation" and the artistic characteristics of a "generation's" talent. Moreover, the painters included in this collection have already undergone academic scrutiny over the years through exhibitions, dissemination, and critical evaluation, gaining basic consensus in the art world and continuous attention from society. Reuniting their representative works once again will reveal a cohesive "generation" atmosphere. Chinese painting is at a critical juncture of development, facing both opportunities and challenges. In my view, the primary external issue is the negative impact of commercial values on art during market economy activities, which, while raising the overall quality of Chinese painting, has also led to its widespread inclination toward the secular. The internal issue lies in the imbalance, relaxation, and loss of academic standards in the art world, as well as the imitation and stagnation of artistic styles, the decline of creative vitality among painters, the imitation that threatens originality, and the imitation that elevates mediocrity to elite status—all of which erode the intrinsic value of Chinese painting. Therefore, observing the artistic characteristics of emerging painters and understanding their creative strengths is of paramount importance for comprehending the state of the entire art scene. As for the personal traits of each individual, they should be left to the audience's subjective interpretations.
