Features: Condensate gas reservoirs are an important type of oil and gas resource, with discoveries and developments found both domestically and internationally. China has successively invested in and developed condensate gas reservoirs such as Banqiao, Kekuya, Dazhangtuo, and Yaoha, with continuously growing reserves and production. In recent years, new condensate gas reservoirs have been discovered in eastern and western regions of China, particularly in the Tarim Basin. Condensate gas reservoirs hold a significant position in oil and gas exploration and development. These reservoirs are special gas reservoirs with extremely complex fluid phase changes, making their development highly challenging. Under underground original conditions, they are typically gaseous. After development, as temperature and pressure change, liquids will condense, and these liquids (usually condensate oil) will adhere to the reservoir rock, making them difficult to recover, resulting in the loss of high-value condensate oil. In most cases, maximizing the recovery rate of condensate oil in condensate gas reservoirs is one of the primary objectives of their development. Developing condensate gas reservoirs rationally and efficiently faces many problems and challenges. The research on condensate gas reservoir development covers a wide range of aspects, including special fluid PVT experiments, phase characteristics, reservoir description, oil and gas reserve calculations, well testing and productivity evaluation, numerical simulation studies, development plan optimization design, drilling and completion techniques, injection and production techniques, and surface engineering design. Each stage significantly impacts the efficient development of condensate gas reservoirs, and the research difficulty of each part is often far higher than that of conventional oil and gas reservoirs. During the writing of this book, support and assistance were provided by many experts and scholars engaged in the theoretical and applied research of condensate gas reservoir development. Special thanks are given to the team members of projects such as Kekuya and Yaoha, as well as to teachers and researchers like Wang Xiaoyun, Dr. Luo Kai, Dr. Guo Chunchun, Senior Engineer Li Baozhu, Senior Engineer Fu Xiujuan, and Senior Engineer Xu Qing, who offered enthusiastic assistance. Here, the author expresses heartfelt gratitude to these experts. This book systematically discusses the basic theories, research methods, and technologies of condensate gas reservoir development, introduces the development practices and experiences of major condensate gas reservoirs both domestically and internationally, and focuses on providing multi-phase fluid phase characteristics and phase equilibrium calculations, well testing and productivity analysis, and reserve evaluation of condensate gas reservoirs.
