Features: This book comprehensively and authentically records Chen Xi's legendary journey from childhood to encountering his mentor, and from honing his skills in competitions to marveling at the world of classical music. It is a heartfelt chronicle of a mother documenting her child's growth. The publication of this book aims to help more violin learners, especially young students with aspirations to become performers, objectively understand the challenges they must face on the path to success. It seeks to inspire and guide more aspiring musicians in the beginning of their musical journey. Listening to the breathtaking live performances and reflecting on Chen Xi's genuine artistic path, long shrouded in the halo of a "genius violinist," will leave audiences with far more than just admiration. "I simply love the violin and consider it my lifelong career."--Chen Xi once said. Chen Xi began learning the violin at a young age, demonstrating exceptional musical talent. In 1995, he entered the Central Conservatory of Music and studied under professors Zhao Wei and Suo Keqiang. By 1999, he became a student of Professor Lin Yaoji, making rapid progress. In 2000, he won fifth place in the junior division of the 8th Wieniawski Competition, followed by numerous awards both in China and internationally. In 2001, he collaborated with the China Philharmonic Orchestra. At just 16 years old, Chen Xi successfully performed Ravel's "Tzigane," causing a sensation. He has since performed with over 50 orchestras in China and around the world. At the 12th Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in 2002, Chen Xi stood out among 47 contestants with his passionate and dynamic performances, as well as his profound understanding of the piece's rich musicality, winning the silver medal (the gold medal was left vacant). He became the youngest winner of the highest award in the history of the competition. Chen Xi's playing is pure, sincere, and full of passion, with a strong sense of melody and musical expression. His ever-maturing stage presence and demeanor give his performances a rare stability that transcends his age, revealing glimpses of a masterful aura. The British magazine "Strad" once described Chen Xi as "a highly individualistic and brilliant musician," praising him as undoubtedly becoming "a rising star on the world classical music stage."
