Introduction to Mycology

Features: Will this book be too heavy? This question is equivalent to saying that the book contains too much knowledge about fungi. Our experience in teaching mycology tells us that it is very difficult to fit all the content we want to teach into one semester. But we also know that no matter how long a semester is, many students want to learn more than what we can teach in a single course. For these students, we tell them to keep reading. However, from the perspective of teaching practice, we have done our best to write this book so that it can be effectively used in different ways. For example, the first three chapters of this book, as well as the chapters introducing each phylum, are more suitable for shorter undergraduate courses or similar graduate courses. The other parts of the book that deal with specific groups of fungi are quite detailed, allowing interested students to delve deeper into certain groups of fungi. The intention of citing a large number of references in the book is to guide students into the rich literature of mycology, while the numerous illustrations, life cycle diagrams, and tables will be helpful for students of all levels.
